EVALUATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIETY PARTICIPATION TO IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY OF SLUM AREA

The NUSSP program is a program to improve the environmental quality of slum area for the poors/Low-level Income Community (KBR) in the city through society participation. The NUSSP program in Baros Village, Baros Subdistrict and Kebonjati Village, Cikole Subdistrict, Sukabumi city has been conducted since 2006, however, it has not been known yet whether the society participation to improve the environmental quality of slum area has been conducted. The evaluation method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative analysis, which is used to analyze the interview results, including Sukabumi City Local Coordinating Office/LCO NUSSP, Sukabumi City NUSSP Working Unit, City Coordinator a Sukabumi and City Facilitator. Meanwhile, the quantitative analysis is used for data resulted from questionnaires, including ideas level, decision making, implementation and evaluation level, in the stage of socialization, planing, executing, operation and maintenance, and evaluation stage. The participative development cycle stage is preceded by participative socialization, participative planning, participative executing, participative operation and maintenance, as well as participative evaluation. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that the total remarks of NUSSP program participation level is 227.24. Based on the society participation scale, the NUSSP program in Baros Village Baros Subdistrict dan Kebonjati Village Cikole Subdistrict, City of Sukabumi, the participation of the society in those villages has not been attained, or in other words, has not met the expected requirement to actively involved the society in every stage of development.
