INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/34504 Tourism X is located at Grand Hotel Street No. 33 E, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. Tourism X has a land area of 107,603 m² with number daily visitor of 4,948 people. As one of the famous tourism, tourism X is one of the solid waste production sources. Solid waste at tourism X is not only produced by visitors, but also by 56 units tenant food-factory outlet and 100 workers. However, until now there is not solid waste processing in tourism X. Organic waste from gardening activities is destroyed by burning, while food waste organic waste, B3 waste, and inorganic waste directly discharged to the Final Processing Site (TPA). Only cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and plastic cups are collected by temporary shelter (TPS) officers for sale to collectors. It give an impact on the amount of waste generated which must be transported to the TPA, which is 2,152 m3/day. In addition, amount of garbage often explode at the temporary shelter especially when the peak day of visitors. This is due to irregular of emptying waste container, which is 3?4 weeks. As a result, the aesthetics of the temporary shelter's condition declined and had a health impact because the temporary shelter was close to the canteen and office workers. In addition, work efficiency in temporary shelter decreased due to the use of permanent container which were not adjusted with transportation to the landfill which provided by the UPT Kebersihan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup West Bandung Regency. Seeing these conditions, it is necessary to do an efficient waste management system design in tourism X and be able to reduce the amount of waste that must be transport to landfill. The planning of the waste treatment system at TPS 3R at tourism X is a system of garbage collection, waste sorting systems, organic waste processing systems, inorganic waste handling systems, and residue handling systems. Sorting is done manually by 3 workers to sort organic waste, paper and plastic. Inorganic waste such metals and glass will not be processed because it is produced in small quantities and is not produced periodically. Plastic waste will be shreddered, while paper waste will be pressed, then it will be placed in containers before being sold. Organic waste is processed by composting with open windrow method using bamboo aerators. Based on the planning up to the 3R TPS until 2030, the waste generation entering the 3R TPS is 10.97 m3/day or 715.57 kg/day. Organic waste that can be processed into compost is 0.85 m3/day. While inorganic waste sells (paper and plastic) that can be sold and provides added value for the 3R TPS is 0.79 m3/day. Compaction effort is carried out to reduce the volume of waste transported to the landfill, so that the amount of waste transported to the landfill is 0.80 m3/day. The construction of 3R TPS is the responsibility of the owner, so that funding is sourced from the owner. Funds that must be spent by the owner for operational costs per year are Rp. 664,642,375.05. text |
