This is caused by the absence of good spatial planning and land use around Cikapundung river. Application of environmental technologies and arrangement of public facilities are necessary in creating a environmental friendly and sustainable region. The purpose of this area design is to determine the need for comprehensive environmental facilities required in the study area, that is in Cikapundung river, Babakan Siliwangi. The method used in this design is to use a whole-system design, as well as referring to the regulations and applicable national standards, as well as taking into account of various studies that have been researched. The area required for the provision of clean water facilities in the each cluster area is 2,400 m2, planned for cluster 1 and cluster 2, cluster 3, and cluster 4 wetland area needed for waste water management systems required by each cluster is in the range at 1,400 to 1,800 m2. The planned area for green open space is 16 hectare for cluster 1, cluster 2, and cluster 3, while for cluster 4, it is planned around 20 hectare. Through the design and placement of facilities supporting the environment, then a region that is sustainable can be achieved. Hopefully, the results of this design could be as a new concept in improving and development of a sustainable residential area which is integrated as a system. text
