Requirement of Public Transportation Networks Based on Movement Pattern of Settlements and Tourism Sector in Cirebon

The city of Cirebon is located on the northern coast of the eastern part of West Java Province. Geographical location is classified as strategic because it is the main transportation route from Jakarta to West Java and Central Java via a route along the northern coast (pantura). In addition to the development of new residential centers, the city of Cirebon is also one of the cities of tourism both natural tourism, cultural tourism, and artificial tourism. To anticipate the emergence of more complex public transportation service problems, it is necessary to study the passenger public transport network in Cirebon City whether all residential areas and tourism in Cirebon City have been served optimally. The research technique used was survey research through on board surveys. Primary data and secondary data are processed using quantitative and qualitative combined analysis methods through statistical and non-statistical analysis tools. The analysis is carried out on the characteristics of the movement, the characteristics of the demand for public transportation, the public transportation service network that concerns accessibility, mobility, tourism objects, and the potential zone of public transport services. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the network of public transport services in some residential areas, especially in the south of the city and several tourist objects has not been optimal in meeting the movement needs between Regions in Cirebon City, so traveling must travel a considerable distance to other areas that are served public transportation
