Those air pollution consist of many things, including airborne particles or also known as aerosol. To prevent negative effects of aerosol to human, studies are needed to gain deeper knowledge about aerosol, and one of critical instrument in aerosol studies is particle size distribution measurement. Commercial products to measure particle size distribution are already available, but they are expensive and hard to obtain. Thus, a particle size distribution measurement system is developed in this study. This measurement system use Differential Mobility Analyzer (DMA) to classify aerosol according to their mobility diameter. To make sure DMA can work properly, a set of auxiliary component also need to built. The measurement system is built, calibrated, and tested. Tandem technique is used to calibrate the system and the system is tested to measure its response, verify validity of the calibration, and compare measurement that made by Faraday Cup Electrometer (FCE) and Condensation Particle Counter (CPC). The tests concluded that the system operates normally and ready for use. Measurements made by FCE and CPC give very similar result, and both can be used interchangeably. text
