Description
Summary:Difference in salinity, water temperature, and pressure , water column in the ocean is stratified in layers of uid with different densities. The lighter fluid ays above the heavier fluid. Interfacial waves are waves that appear at the interface of this two layers of fluid with different density. Here, the two layer shallow water equations (SWE) is considered. Staggered grid scheme is implemented to solve the two layer shallow water equation. First, we will simulate barotropic and baroclinic mode. The period of these modes conform the analytical periods. This scheme is also used to simulate a long interfacial waves propagate over a topography with shelf, simulating shoaling phenomena, and also dam break problem that happens in the interface of two fluid.
