Description
Summary:Ascorbic acid (AA) is an antioxidant playing crucial role in human health. Many analytical methods for AA determination have been developed. Most of them are time-consuming and require expensive instrumentations. In this study, we developed a new modified carbon paste electrode for amperometric determination of AA. The rate of electrons transfer of AA oxidation is accelerated by modifiying carbon paste electrode. The working electrode was modified with ferrocene and poly(3-aminophenol). The addition of ferrocene to the electrodes surface was made by casting. Then the modifier poly(3-aminophenol) was added by electropolimerization process. The modified carbon paste electrode produced better results to those of carbon paste electrode. It produce ascorbic acid oxidation peak at potential of 548 mV vs Ag/AgCl in phosphate buffer solution ( pH 5 ). The calibration curve is linear in the range of 1 × 10-6 M – 4 × 10-3 M with detection limit of 0,61 M. Analysis of real sample showed that the developed method gives good result.
