DEVELOPMENT OF BANYUWANGI AIRPORT AS TOURISM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN BANYUWANGI

Airports are Importance aspects that are classified as accessibility within the tourism component. Banyuwangi Regency is also included in the National Tourism Destination (NTD) which is focused on Alas Purwo National Park and Ijen Crater. In this NTD, there should be development as stated in the 2010-2025 RIPPARNAS which includes the development of tourism accessibility and also the construction of public infrastructure, public facilities and tourism facilities. The development of tourism accessibility as intended is to support the development of tourism and the movement of tourists to destinations and tourist movements within the NTD. To accessibility, airports are Importance facilities that can bring tourists through the air. The airport is also an alternative for tourists who have plans to travel to Banyuwangi.. With the flights from 2 cities, there are Jakarta, Surabaya, and then added the Kuala Lumpur international route, the number of tourist visits to this NTD will increase. At this time Banyuwangi airport is in the development stage towards an tourism international airport so that airports is supporting the needs of passengers, especially tourists, must pay attention to aspects of tourism. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence the development of Banyuwangi airport to become an international tourism airport with the aim of identifying obstacles to the development of Banyuwangi airport in its efforts to become a tourism airport, identifying the latest developments in Banyuwangi Airport in its efforts tourism-based international airport, identification of cooperation between stakeholders in the development of Banyuwangi airport, the formulation of suggestions or components of tourism (attractions, accessibility, and amenities) for Banyuwangi tourism airports. The theory used as a guideline in this study is about the main components of tourism, aspects of measuring collaborative efforts among institutions, dimensions in service quality models, airport service quality, attributes for evaluating passenger services, airport elements and attributes, main dimensions of city development air, activities that are in the airport. This study uses mixed research method with data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The form of analysis that used to process the questionnaire data is Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) which assesses performance and expectations based on 25 indicators. The results of the study indicated using the percentage of achievement of performance with the expectation of each indicator until finally meet 6 indicators were considered grouped at the top priority. The recommendations in this study are divided into 2 groups, there is the recommendation of the results of the analysis based on IPA, and recommendations for non-analysis findings that are guided by the “3A”. This recommendation was then addressed to PT.Angkasa Pura II as the manager of Banyuwangi airport and the Banyuwangi Regency Culture and Tourism Office as a local government institution authorized in Banyuwangi tourism.
