As one of many educational institutions, various activities are going on in it such as learning, research, etc. This will lead to waste generation that needs to be managed properly. The main objective of this study was to determine the proper waste management systems in ITB Jatinangor Campus adjusted by the amount, composition and characteristics of waste in ITB Jatinangor Campus. To determine the amount and composition of waste, sampling for eight days were performed in accordance with SNI 19-3964-1995 and sample were analyzed in the Laboratory of Solid Waste and Environmental Engineering Program B3 ITB to investigate the characteristics of waste generation. The sampling results showed that waste generated per day was 111.76 kg or 1,080.25 L. Estimation of waste generation for stage one (2020) is 745.68 kg/day or 5,894.74 and stage two (2025) is 952.08 kg / day or 7667.60 L / day. The solid waste composition is dominated by food waste around 40 percent. Water content and volatile content of solid waste of ITB Campus Jatinagor was high at approximately 60% and 88%, and the ash content was 26.5%. Calorific value is 4,495.65 cal/g, the value of C/N was 56.07 and phosphate was 0.40%. Container and collection capacity were sufficient at this time. But it is needed to segregate the solid waste started from the source so it will be easier to be manage and add a container for solid waste in Polling Station to prevent environmental pollution. In addition, the treatment was done at ITB Jatinangor Campus just for food waste, using anaerobic digester around 15 kg/day. Because solid waste generation is predicted to increase in subsequent years so it needs another treatment facilities such as composting and recycling considering ITB Jatinangor Campus`s solid waste dominated by food waste, leaves/wood, and recycleable waste (plastic, paper, glass, metal) and the available land is still sufficient for building that facilities That additional treatment facilities will reduce the amount of waste that will be going into landfill. text
