The used oxidants consist of ozone (O3), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and combination of O3/H2O2. The research was conducted in a laboratory scale, using an acrylic reactor with a cylinder shape and operational volume at 1.5 L. Prior to the research, the first step that must be completed was to measure the initial characterization of the post treatment water. In each step of the researc, the concentration of COD, ammonia and acidity were used as references. The research was began with an experiment to determine the cutting time. The cutting time was obtained at 120 minutes. The next step was conducted to determine the optimum dose of O3 and H2O2 in the post treatment water process. The post treatment water was treated by the oxidants with its optimum dose (O3 & H2O2) and the combination between O3/H2O2. The combination of O3/H2O2 is the most optimum type of oxidant. Then, O3/H2O2 was operated under the pH variations, started from acidic pH, neutral pH and alkaline pH. The experiment showed that neutral pH is the most optimum condition for the post treatment water using O3/H2O2. The result of post treatment water after being treated on the optimum conditions was turned out to meet the water quality standard of class IV in accordance with Government Regulation No. 82 Year 2001 about the Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control. The water processing result could potentially be used as reuse water, specifically for irrigating crops. text |
