Application of communal-scaled biodigester in Bandung involving government agencies as the facilitators and regulator, private parties as the investor, NGO (Non Governmental Organitzation) who have coordinated with the local government as a companion and facilitator, while community acted as managers and beneficiaries of the results and the process of the facility. In the operation, communal-scaled biodigester technology implementation often have constraints in terms of both technical and non-technical. Therefore, we need an instrument and assessment activities in order to keep the communal biodigester facilities run according to its main goal. The assessment method can be conducted by applying Key Performance Indicators (KPI) based on the social bussiness. In this research, KPIs were used as the result from development of four components, they are waste separation activities, reduction of waste generation, consumption of biodigester’s products, and the benefits of biodigesters. KPI development results were then tested to several locations in Bandung, which became the research area. The location is in Cibangkong RW 11, Babakan Surabaya RW 13, Babakan Sari RW 09, Taman tongkeng, and Cipadung RW 12. The trial results showed that the KPIs can be used to assess the operation and maintenance of communal-scaled biodigester. In addition, the KPI assessment can provide an overview of biodigester communal conditions in urban areas. text
