Therefore, the productivity of solid waste transport is essential for city managers in determining the success of solid waste management. Transporting waste effectively and efficiently becomes the main objective of this study. Evaluation and development of solid waste transportation carried out a case study in urban areas of Garut. Primary data collection methods are Load Count Analysis for waste generation was conducted at 10 sample transfer point for 8 consecutive days and at landfill for 2 consecutive days, quadrant method for density and composition were conducted at 10 sample transfer point for 8 consecutive days and at landfill were conducted at 8 vehicle for 8 8 consecutive days, and field observations by following 3 arm roll and 3 dump truck with different route from garage to garage back. Evaluation technical aspects, institutional, regulatory, financing and community participation compared with the prevailing theories then created an alternative development for the next 20 years. Evaluation results showed solid wate transportation in Garut was not optimum because only reached 30,92% of waste being transported with 25,64% of the waste collected to the transfer point, regulatory agencies managing waste transportation is weak, the regulations concerning waste transportation is not adequate, the financing has not reached cost recovery, and community participation is still lacking. Development of solid waste transportation will apply the 3R (reduce reuse and recycle) at source. From the technical aspects need to change the transport route, the addition of transfer stations and vehicles so that in 2035 there will be 455 transfer stations, 34 dump trucks and 30 arm rolls. From the institutional aspect needs to be improved capacity of solid waste transportation agencies. From the aspect of the rules need to be made regent regulation and socialization of local regulations on solid waste management. From the aspect of financing needs to increase the absorption of the tariff, increase the tariff and cooperation with third parties. From the aspect of community participation there needs education about the importance of an active role in solid waste management, especially in waste transport. text
