The first stage is the physical and chemical characterization of the determination of porosity before impregnation and surface with SEM, functional groups with FTIR, the composition by XRF, ion exchange capacity, heat resistance, and density. The results obtained from the initial characterization of carbonate sands contain a high with a uniform pores. Modifications made to the manufacture of glue solution with 14, 20, 33% by weight and the ratio of sand and glue solution yairu 1:5 and 1:10. Characterization is done by determining the FTIR, ion exchange capacity, density, heat resistance, resistance to acid, water, and alkalis. The best modification of wood glue on the concentration of 14% weight ratio of 1:5 sand and glue after ion exchange and density test done. Modifications to the Biawak island’s sand is successful visits by a change in the spectrum of infrared spectrophotometry to the method of transmission and reflection (DRS). text |
