The human population in this world continues to increase, but the amount of water available in the world tend to decrease. There are only two ways left to support the availability of water in the world, the first way is purifying the waste water for industrial or household, and the second is purifying sea water. We have developed several techniques for water purification. One of them is Electronic Water Purification (EWP). This research has created a system of electrodes for water purification electronically utilizing graphite electrodes using a variation of current as 0.2 A and 2 A. Parameters observed in this study is changes in conductivity due to variations of current. Actived carbon was used as electrodes to reduce the effects of very high conductivity of graphite. The measurement results of water samples with Fe3+ ion concentration of 1000 ppm at 0.2 A current in 60 minutes result 98.48% efficiency of purification and 99.16% purification efficiency at 2 A in 150 minutes. Measurement of the concentration of water samples above using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). text |
