Determination of paracetamol concentration in medicine is important to prepare an appropriate dose. Therefore, effective and accurate methods for paracetamol analysis are needed. The most common methods to analyze paracetamol are spectrophotometry and chromatoghraphy. These methods require hydrolysis of paracetamol before measurement can be conducted so they are time consuming. In this research, an electrode for voltammetric analysis of paracetamol is developed. Carbon paste electrode (CPE) cannot be used for voltametric analysis of paracetamol because of the slow heterogeneous electron transfer of paracetamol oxidation. In this study, CPE is modified with carbon nanotube (CNT) and poly(3-aminophenol) to improve heterogeneous electron transfer of paracetamol oxidation. Synthesized of CNT was conducted with spray pyrolysis technique and it was characterized using SEM, TEM, and EDX methods. The diameter of the synthesized CNT is 28,32 nm. The CPE was modified by two steps: dispersion of CNT followed by electrodeposition of poly(3-aminophenol). At the modified electrode, the peak potential of squarewave voltammogram was found 496 mV vs Ag/AgCl(3 M). The best calibration curve was found at range 10-5 – 10-4 M with detection limit of 1,1 µM. Voltammetric analysis of paracetamol in real sample using the modified electrode gave excellent results with percent recovery of 99,65-101,81 %. text
