DETERMINATION OF ADSORPTION CAPACITY OF REMAZOL BRILLIANT (RB) RED F3B DYES BY RICE STRAW CELLULOSE

Rice straw is part of the rice that has not been used in abundance. The main components of rice straw are cellulose and lignin, while other components such as tannins and pigments presented in a relatively small amount. The main components of rice straw are cellulose and lignin, while other components such as tannins and pigments presented in a relatively small amount. The most important part of rice straw for dye absorption from textiles is cellulose. In this study, rice straw is processed firstly by heating in 20% NaOH solution, and then washed until neutral. Total cellulose obtained from rice straw is 21.76 %. Optimal conditions for absorption of textile dye remazol brilliant (RB) red F3B by rice straw are determined. Experiment about dye absorption by cellulose reveals that absorption capacity of the textile dye by rice straw is 1,19 mg dye / g cellulose at 125 ppm textile dye and H2SO4 0,1 M condition. text
