Summary: | PT XYZ is one of the Security Services Businesses (BUJP) that currently focuses on Gada Utama. As a newcomer company in this industry, PT XYZ must be able to continue to grow and improve its competence and performance in order to compete with other companies. Lack of knowledge management causes several problems. Due to poor and inadequate management of employee knowledge, the potential of losing knowledge that must be used, stored and distributed to support business operations. This study is focused on knowing the readiness of PT XYZ to implement knowledge management in order to get better performance. Through this study, we will also know what is the recent KM readiness Assessment in PT SECURITY TRAINING, the barriers faced by the company related to managing their knowledge management and what need to be recommended or the strategy to improve KM implementation in PT SECURITY TRAINING.
To analyze these problems, this study is conducted by taking data through qualitative methods (interviews) as the main method supported by quantitative methods (questionnaire). For the questionnaire survey, this study used the Likert scale method (1 = Strongly disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree) in order to determine consistency of the questions, this was analyzed by using Cronbach Alpha. SPSS and descriptive analysis were used to analyze the questionnaire’s result. Using fishbone, writer also able to point out some major problems that occur in the company related to how’s the company KM maturity readiness.
Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that there are several obstacles that come from several elements such as processes, human resources, technology, and governance. The unavailability of an adequate system to support the knowledge management process and the unavailability of an adequate technology system infrastructure also causes a delay in the readiness of the knowledge management implementation process.
The recommendations are to develop a business strategy, creating a KM team/division, developing a KM strategy, pilot testing and deployment, develop a KM evaluation system, implement KM, also give do some evaluation and give rewards. Although those process could take longer than the suggested timeline, expectantly it will improve company performance. |
