Summary:South Tangerang City still rely on Cipeucang Landfill as municipal solid waste final disposal. Along with the population growth and limited areas in the landfill, certain waste processing mechanisms are needed to reduce the amount of waste to be dumped in landfill. Material recovery facility (MRF) will be located on two sites, with total area of 949 m2 and capacity of 10,800 kg traditional market waste per day. Waste treatments using composting and recycling inorganic waste are selected considering the dominant type of waste in Cipeucang Landfill which is organic waste and plastic waste. Bokashi composting method is chosen based on the result of scale calculation considering land area required, economic aspects, human resources, as well as operational and maintenance. Workflows in MRF are listing the incoming waste, waste sorting, organic waste treatment, plastic waste treatment, and hazardous waste treatment. The number of employees needed by Cipeucang Landfill MRF are 24 people with operational budget is Rp 3.739.061.353,50 per year.
