The wastewater characteristics that may contain high amount of organics potentially contain pathogenic bacteria makes hospital wastewater needs to undergo treatment process before discharged into water body. According to Decree of Health Minister of Indonesia Number 1204/MENKES/SK/X/2004, hospitals are required to have Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Based on quality test result, wastewater from Marinir Cilandak Hospital exceeds the quality standards on BOD, COD, TSS, and ammonia. The quality standard in reference is Decree of Environmental Minister of Indonesia Number kep-58/MENLH/12/1995. According to the projection results of bed number and employee number, generated wastewater on 2023 is estimated to be 105,062 m3/day. Planned type of treatment consists of physical treatment with bar screen and sedimentation tank, biological treatment, chemical treatment by disinfection, also sludge treatment with sludge drying bed. Proposed biological treatment alternatives are Completely Mixed Activated Sludge (CMAS) and Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC). Selection considerations are based on technical aspect, economical aspect, and operational aspect done by scale weighting. Technical aspect appraisal is based on BOD removal efficiency. Economical aspect appraisal is based on the result of Present Value Annual Cost analysis. Meanwhile operational aspect is based on land requirement, operational level of difficulty, and energy consumption. From the two alternatives, Completely Mixed Activated Sludge is chosen for treating wastewater in Marinir Cilandak Hospital. The total cost needed for this wastewater treatment plant project is 1.238.674.369,00 Rupiahs. text |
