ANALISIS POTENSI KEUNTUNGAN DARI PENERAPAN 3R (REDUCE, REUSE, DAN RECYCLE) PADA PENANGANAN SAMPAH DAN LUMPUR TANGKI SEPTIK DI KOTA BANDUNG
Increasing amount of waste is not currently followed by the availability of Final Disposal (TPA), so it should take the right treatment to reduce the volume of waste disposed of to landfill. In addition, the disposal of sludge directly (without treatment) into the environment can cause problems, suc...

In addition, the disposal of sludge directly (without treatment) into the environment can cause problems, such as the emergence of disease-causing organisms, odor, and decreased quality of ground water. By implementing the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle), it is expected that waste is reduced from its source. This study aimed to evaluate the 3R implementation on waste and septic tank sludge management, know the benefits of 3R activities in the study area, and calculate the potential of biogas and biofertilizer produced from mixing organic waste and septic tank sludge in Bandung. Method of cost-benefit analysis is used to see whether the 3R activities run effectively. This study resulted in the conclusion that the 3R implementation on waste and septic tank sludge management in Bandung is still not running well. This can be happened because 3R temporary shelter (TPS) and communal septic tank are not working anymore. In addition, cost for waste management still takes a huge cost, especially the cost for waste transportation.. However, when there was an effort to process all the organic waste in Bandung, the cost of waste transportation can be reduced by 84.33% or Rp89,030,801,014.00/year. Furthermore, the benefits of 3R activities in the study area are waste reduction, cost reduction on waste transportation, raising environmental qualities, financial benefits, potential for renewable energy resource, and as organization for the community to participate. From the results of the study, Karang Anyar gains the greatest benefit from the garbage bank and handicrafts production. The benefits are financial income, increasing positive interactions between communities, and reducing the volume of waste. For the potential of biogas produced from organic waste processing, Bandung has the potential of biogas production as much as 636 m3/day, the volume of methane 254.4 m3/day, and the potential for electrical energy for 2,388.82 kWh/day. Potential revenue from biogas and biofertilizer resulted from mixing organic waste and septic tank sludge, Bandung has the potential of biogas production by 644.29 m3/day, the total revenues of Rp222,453,661.42/year from biogas, and Rp203,859,000.00/day from biofertilizer. text |
