Summary: | Zigbee PHY layer which uses standard IEEE 802.15.4 has spreading process known as DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum). This proses uses quasi-orthogonal chip sequences which means one sequence to another doesn’t have significant difference, so if noise happens when transmitting, then it is possible for error happening when data is received. This happening affect BER (Bit Error Rate) which is acritically important parameter of the quality of a wireless product.
Some researchers have succeed to prove that RNS (Residue Number System) based sequences can achieve BER better than IEEE 802.15.4 based sequences by simulation. In this research, that achievement will be evaluated by an implementation to SDR (Software Defined Radio) and do BER measurement. |
