Description
Summary:The research area administratively locate in Dawan, Kab. Klungkung, Bali Provinces. Geographically, the research area lies in UTM zone 50S 325000-329000 mE and 9054000- 9060100 mN with 24,4 km2 wide. At the research area, there are 3 units that have lava basalt rocks in. The unit from the old to young is the Lava Basalt Lebu, Lava Basalt Buanbutit, and Lava Basalt Talibeng. The number of samples analyzed from the three units are 9 samples of rocks and 11 chemical data sets of rocks. Three samples were choose for chemical analysis of minerals, each sample represents one unit of rocks Lebu 1M (Lava Basalt Lebu), Abah 1 (Lava Basalt Buanbutit) and RM13-05 (Lava Basalt Talibeng). The research methods are petrography analysis, chemical rock analysis, and chemical minerals analysis. Chemical analysis of rocks is used SEM JEOL IT-300LA. Based on both analysies, lava basalt in the research area has the composition of mineral olivine (Fo63-92), pyroxene (augite and diopsite), feldspar with range bytownite to high-K albite, magnetite and volkanic glass. The former magma in the area of research ha pressure between 3-9 kbars (±2 kbar), temperatures between 1100oC-1300oC (± 60oC) and associated with magma series calc-alkaline with high K composition. The magma that formed the lava basalt in research areas had experienced magma mixing with the magma is more basaltic especially between Lava Basalt Buanbutit and Lava Basalt Talibeng.
