Description
Summary:Textile industry is one of the growing sectors in Bandung. One of the regions with quite a lot of textile industries is Cimahi City. River that through Cimahi City is Cimahi River, with Cibodas, Ciputri, Cimindi, Cibeureum, and Cisangkan as its tributaries. Textile industries in Cimahi produce a lot of the industrial wastewater that go to the river. As a result, it needs a research about the effluent to make sure that the industrial wastewater do not consider as toxic effluent. One example is to perform acute toxicity test using Daphnia magna with flow-through test method. The result of the acute toxicity test was in the form of LC50 or concentration that made the death of 50% of test organism. The LC50 obtained from this research was 58.635 with the TUa was 1.7. Based on these result, industrial wastewater generated from the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Y Company still had toxic quality which caused by the poor performance in the WWTP. The evaluation of the perfomance in the WWTP also used physical, chemical, and biological analysis which compared to the Textile Industry Quality Standard in Kep.Men. LH No. 51 Tahun 1995, Appendix B. IX. Parameter contained in the quality standard were pH, BOD, COD, TSS, Ammonia, Sulfide, Phenol, Oil and Grease, and Chromium. The WWTP had a poor eficiency based on the TSS, COD, and Ammonia that still did not meet with the standard.
