The waters of Bangka Belitung and its surroundings are included in the path of the Indonesian Monsoon Flow that connects the South China Sea to the Java Sea. This results in an influence of physical oceanographic factors from the water mass of the South China Sea or the Java Sea, such as water temperature. This study aims to determine the condition of temperature characteristics in the waters of Bangka Belitung and its surroundings using data from the MyOcean model (resolution 1/12 °) in 2013-2014. The results of the data processing model were verified with the field data taken on November 13-17, 2013 by PT. TIMAH Tbk . Based on the RMSE calculation between the two data, the RMSE value is 0.1365 and captures good results between field data and data model. The overall distribution of sea surface temperature (SSTs) on the island of Bangka is ranging from 29.0-30.75 ?C. The spatial distribution of SPL in the waters of Bangka Belitung and its surroundings is dominated by seasonal influences. In the northwest and southeast seasons, the sea water temperature in the waters of Bangka Belitung and surrounding areas is cooler, this is due to cold water input from the South China Sea in the northwest season and input from Java Sea in the southeast season. Spatial SST in the transition season I (March-May) and II (September-November) is relatively higher than the northwest season and southeast season in the waters of Bangka Belitung and its surroundings. This is allegedly due to the influence of wind speed, rainfall and the intensity of the sun which is quite high in that season. text |
