Description
Summary:Many problems in the science and engineering have models in the form of bilinear systems, therefore many studies conducted on the bilinear systems. Some of the studies discussed the design of control and observers for bilinear systems. Control function is used to manage the system so that the system works as desired. To control a system, some information from the system is needed. But in some cases, the information needed cannot be measured directly. In that case, the observer will be used to estimate the information that cannot be directly measured. This final project discusses about procedure for designing observer for bilinear system In the first part of this final project, basic concepts needed to design observers for bilinear system will be discussed. These concepts are observability of linear systems, linear system observers, and observability of bilinear systems. Observability of linear systems describe the requirements for a system to be observed. The linear system observer explains about full-order observer and minimum-order observer. Observability of bilinear system studies the requirements of a bilinear system to be observed. It would explain about two types of observability for bilinear systems, namely observability for known input and observability for any input. Observers that will be designed is those whose error is independent of input from the bilinear system. The types of observer are full-order observer and minimum order observer. The bilinear system will be transformed into a canonical form according to the desired type of observer. This canonical form will make it easier to design the observer. vi Finally, an example of the observer will be shown on several real models to verify the form of the obtained observer. Obtained observer will be simulated to see the comparison between the estimated result and the original value of the state variabel. The simulation results show that the designed observer can estimate the value of the state variabel.
