Summary:In Indonesia, the number people of disabilities, especially people with spinal-cord injury, is increasing every year, but there are still insufficient active activity aids. The tools needed are not only therapeutic aids but also active tools. Unfortunately, active aids are still too expensive for most Indonesians. Therefore, in this undergraduate assignment, the design and manufacture of exoskeletons that are active and low cost are carried out. The work starts from the exoskeleton design. The exoskeleton design consists of determining the Design Requirements and Objectives (DR&O), determining the alternative design, and detailed design. Design simulations are carried out to ensure the strength of the structure and the functioning of the mechanism. Exoskeleton production is carried out after the exoskeleton is believed to function properly and is declared safe by simulation. Exoskeleton production consists of fabrication and assembly. Exoskeleton that has been assembled are tested through two methods, namely testing without users and testing with users. The exoskeleton is used to lift users from a sit-to-stand position. The results obtained in the form of tools can be used by users with a height range of 150-176 cm, a maximum weight of 70 kg, and a production cost of around Rp62,500,000.00. This research is expected to be useful for the people of Indonesia and can be perfected by making several improvements.
