Summary: | Communities in river and swamp areas, especially in Indonesia has problems in sanitation facilities, especially in the domestic wastewater infrastructure. Therefore, we want to know communities capacity and the factors that influence communities acceptance of sanitation technology. Several factors in capacity factors are institutional, human resources, economics and finance, environment, existing conditions, and socio-cultural. While in communities acceptance of sanitation technology, factors that wanted to be seen was factor of education level, knowledge of sanitation in the community, institusional, rules, reward and punishment, financial situation, the contribution from the outside, advice from community leaders, and the presence of neighbors that had sanitation facilities . That data would be collected from questionnaires and field observations. Furthermore, it analyzed by descriptive and multiple regression analysis to determine the dominant factors that influence communities acceptance . Equation from multiple regression analysis was Y = 11.949 – 0.123 X1 + 0.063 X2 + 0.349 X3 + 0.237 X4 + 0.084 X5 – 0.002 X6 + 0.414 X7 + 0.451X8 – 0,229 X9. In this research found that 38.2% of stilt house communities and 38.8% of floating house communities was relatively poor. Most people had a private toilet but not with propere treatment. In addition, the result showed that all factors tested simultaneously, significantly influenced to communities acceptance of sanitation technology by 16%. However, the factors that influenced communities acceptance of the technology partially was regulatory, the advice of the leader of the communities, and the presence of neighbors that had sanitation facilities because the significance value was below 0.05. Beside that, the dominant factor was regulation with significance value was 0.014 and partial correlations value was 0.13. |
