description |
This groundwater modeling applied to steady condition in semi-confined aquifer.
Finite element method is based on Galerkin weighted residual technique with
linear equation system solver Gauss. Element discritization uses triangle shape
and area domain is square. The well modeled as sink point with certain discharge
as its quantity. The head value will become decreased at the point approach the
well.
Computational results with various model compared between analytical result and
FEM show that reliability of the program become reduced when dealing with
higher discharge and smaller values of soil hydraulic conductivity. While the
mesh refinement does not has much effect to computational result. Finite element
model for groundwater area can be applied for dewatering process where
contractors attempt to remove the water content of soil that will be excavated
when they will build underground structures. |
