KAJIAN PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH DRILL CUTTING SEBAGAI CAMPURAN AGREGAT PADA BATAKO DENGAN METODE SOLIDIFIKASI

Nowadays, oil and gas industry is the largest sectors in Indonesia. One of the wastes generated from the exploration and production of oil and gas is drill cutting. Drill cutting waste include in hazardous wastes that regulated in the D220 code in PP No. 18/1999 jo PP No. 85/1999 as it contains o...

Drill cutting waste include in hazardous wastes that regulated in the D220 code in PP No. 18/1999 jo PP No. 85/1999 as it contains oil, organic matter and heavy metals. Drill cutting waste has the potential to be exploited further into building materials such as bricks with solidification method. Research drill cutting waste utilization as a building block is a research laboratory scale refers to the procedure of ASTM and standard methods. Based on characteristics test results conducted, drill cutting waste can be used as a substitute for fine aggregate in mortar mixing. Drill cutting waste is used as a substitute for fine aggregate in mortar mix with a percentage of 30%, 75% and 100% waste. The best mortar mix obtained through compressive strength test, durability test and absorption test. Based on the results of compressive strength test, the highest compressive strength test that achieved by group TPH < 1 variation of 1:3 with 30% of waste is 94.1 kg/cm2. These variations meet the second quality of brick. And products that have the lowest compressive strength but still qualifies lowest quality brick (fourth quality brick) group TPH > 5 variations of 1:3 with 75% of waste is 27.2 kg/cm2. Absorption by 30% waste products meet first quality brick with maximum absorption is 25%. All the various groups of TPH < 1 meet the durability standards set in ASTM D 4843. And based on the TCLP test, heavy metals in leachate are below the standards that have been set. Solidification method can reduce the TPH of drill cutting waste, but still the TPH after solidification is above the quality standards established in KepMen LH No. 128/2003. text
