Detection of kidney failure is done by testing the glomerular filtration rate, hypoalbuminemia and microalbuminuria which usually indicates renal impairment more than 75%. People with hypertension at risk for kidney failure. Until now, the dynamics of renal glomerular nephrin protein associated with renal impairment has not been much studied, therefore this study is focused on analyzing the protein concentration of glomerular nephrin and its correlation with urine albumin concentration, blood albumin concentration, and ratio of kidney mass to body mass in mouse as hypertension models. Induction of hypertension in animal models is done by giving a solution of NaCl. This study is used 4 groups (each 6 heads) mice (Mus musculus SW) males as animal models. Three groups of mice were given treatment to 4% NaCl (preliminary study) of 0.1 ml/10 g body weight via intravenous for 2 weeks (II) 4 weeks (IV), 6 weeks (VI).. Whereas the control group used mice without 4% NaCl treatment (K). At the end of treatment, 24-hour urine samples, bloods, and kidney were taken from each mouse. Nephrin protein concentration analysis conducted by the Sandwich ELISA technique, analysis of urine albumin concentration was conducted by imunoturbidimetri technique, blood albumin concentration analysis was conducted by Bromcresolgreen technique, and renal mass was calculate in percent. Observation result shows that the concentration of nephrin from treatment groups are lower than control; there is an albumin in urine; blood albumin concentration of the treated groups are lower than control; and the comparison of kidney mass to body mass treatment groups are higher than control. From these results, it can be concluded that mice (Mus musculus SW) induced by hypertension after 4 weeks caused renal function impairment indicated by the decreasing of glomerular nephrin concentration, followed by the appearance of albumin in the urine, increasing of renal mass, and decreasing of blood albumin concentration. text
