Summary: | This study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of lignocellulose biodegradation pretreatment on rice husks using cow rumen liquid on the extraction of extracted silica and release silica in extractive solvents from rice husk. The initial treatment of biodegradation was carried out using a fermentation system on rice husk using maceration method. Maseration is carried out at 38 ° C for a time variation. The independent variable examined in this study is the incubation time. Lignocellulose levels in rice husks decreased with increasing incubation time. Hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin dry weight on day 1 reached 0,26; 0,65; and 0,39 grams in sequence, and the dry weight of said components after the biodegradation reached 0,2159; 0,0708; and 0,3085 grams in sequence. Release of silica in extractive solvents and extractive silica extracts from rice husks were carried out on biodegradation husks resulting from 5 days incubation time. The silica content of rice husk biodegradation in the release test in extractive solvents decreased with different variations of reactive solvents, which reached 1.05; 2,5; and 3,75% dry husk weight in aquabides solvent, 0.1 M citric acid solution and 0.05 M hydrochloric acid solution. Silica extract from biodegradable rice husk in the silica extraction process using KOH 1 M base solution increased with the addition of processing time which is 0,8; 2,04; 5,1; 16,6; and 17% husk dry weight at incubation time 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 days.
