Despite many mysteries related to its unique and natural role in plant tissues, the various studies has proven a potential presence of endophytic bacteria as agents of plant growth promoting activity, both in terms of protection against biotic stress and also provision of nutrients and hormones. While, the study of multicapabilities of endosfer bacteria, related to potential plant growth promoting is still poor. In this study, the isolation of endophytic bacteria from oil palm roots was conducted. Then, it was followed by growth promoting capacity testing, includes a number of aspects: 1) the inhibition of Ganoderma boninense power (dual culture method); 2) N2 fixation activity through the production of ammonia (Nessler method); 3) The IAA production activity; and 4) the solubilizing action of inorganic phosphate. Subsequently, for further study reference, determination of interactions among selected potential isolates was conducted. There were twenty – six functional endophytic bacteria isolates which show the diverse plant growth promoting potency score. The seven candidates was chosen as the best potential endophytic bacteria. Those were PKYE9-2, PKYC10-3, LTWJ7-2, LTWM26-7, PKYC19-1, PKYC20-4, and PKYC10-1. Synergism interaction among the candidates was happened to: 1) PKYE9-2 with PKYC10-3, 2) PKYE9-2 with LTWM26-7, 3) PKYE9-2 with PKYC19 -1, and 4) PKYE9-2 with PKYC10-1. Meanwhile, antagonistic interaction was happened to: 1) PKYC19-1 with PKYC20-4, 2) PKYC10-3 with LTWM26-7, and 3) LTWJ7-2 with all other isolates. text |
