Description
Summary:Bandung City is one of the most rapidly growing city in Indonesia. The existence of Cikapundung river pass through the city, could be a potential source for water resource. Therefore, analysis is needed to determine the reliability of streamflow to know the optimal amount of discharge from the river that can be withdrawn. To compute the safe yield, collected 20 years discharge record from two gauge station of Cikapundung river that is Maribaya and Gandok. The data then analyzed with time-series analysis, including exceedance probability. Discharge that exceeds 50% of the time taken as safe yield. In addition, annual minima series and partial duration minima series also conducted to be taken into consideration. The result of analysis then compared with the water demand of Bandung city, starting now and 20 years into the future. The analysis showed that the safe yield at the point of Maribaya gauge station is 3.11 m3/s, and 3.09 m3/s for Gandok gauge station. At Maribaya gauge station the mean annual minimum flow is 1.64 m3/s, while at Gandok gauge station the mean annual minimum flow is 1.2 m3/s. For low-flow condition, the extreme minimum flow obtained from partial duration serie analysis, with 90-day interval and 10 year of return period obtained that the extreme low flow discharge at Maribaya gauge station is 1.34 m3/s and at Gandok gauge station is 0.58 m3/s.
