Description
Summary:When structure receives dynamic load such as earthquake load, the structure results reaction such as displacement, velocity, and acceleration. It can damage the structure and uncomfortable to its residents. Hospital as a public facility which has high virtue factor, it should provide high comfortable to its residents. One of the ways to increase the comfortable is reduce the displacement of building story until the residents just feel low vibration. In this time, conventional method rely on mass, stiffeness, and strength of material to provide support dynamic load, is difficult to be used, in technology and cost aspect. Therefore, it needs additional system that has function to reduce and control structure response called control system of structure. This report examine theoretical study of tendon active system. Object of this study is structure of hospital building which has 14 story. Active tendon is installed in 6 story of the structure with 5 configuration system. Structure is excited with earthquake load such as El Centro 1940, Kobe 1995, and Northridge 1994. The analysis will calculate structure response with control and without control, then compare both responses. Beside that, the analysis also calculate control force required to reduce response. Control algorithm used in dynamic analysis is optimal control algorithm.
