Description
Summary:Pekalongan region is one of the areas in Central Java Province located in the north coast of Java, consists of Pekalongan Regency and Pekalongan City. In recent years the phenomenon of land subsidence has become quite alarming, especially on the coastal part of Java island. The phenomenon of land subsidence is also indicated in the Pekalongan region. This study aims to determine the value of land subsidence occurred in Pekalongan region in 2007 to 2017. Monitoring of land subsidence in Pekalongan Region in this study was conducted using InSAR data modified from the results of research results Estelle Chaussard journal, F. A.-H. (2013) "Sinking cities in Indonesia: ALOS PALSAR detects rapid subsidence due to groundwater and gas extraction", and measurements were made in the field by GPS survey method (Global Potitioning System) in 2016 and 2017. GPS data processing results show in the period 2016 to 2017 some areas in the Pekalongan Region has experienced a land subsidence of 5 to 19 cm per year which varies both spatially and temporally indicated faster compared InSAR research between 2007-2009. Monitoring of land subsidence is useful for regulating groundwater retrieval, flood control, environmental conservation, and decision making.
