Description
Summary:Artificial insemination (IB) is one of the efforts made by farmers and the government to encourage the development of local beef cattle production. The main factor affecting IB is the quality of cattle semen. Current analysis system can only be done in laboratory, even though a cattle semen quality check is needed right before artificial insemination. MooAnalyzer is proposed for measuring semen quality just before IB can be done. MooAnalyzer shot and process images of samples to calculate the concentration and motility of the frozen semen. Hardware design for MooAnalyzer consists of image shooting, temperature control, and volume uniform pipette. Image shooting designed using main lens-reversed lens configuration with brightfield lighting techniques. Temperature controller designed using PID controller to maintain temperature of semen at 37oC. Uniformity of sample volume is done by using a pipette that is connected to the micropipette TIP which is set the volume limit taken. Image sooting on MooAnalyzer has an effective magnification 227.3 times with 0.6975 ?m pixel size. MooAnalyzer heat and maintain the temperature of the semen sample at 37oC with an average error ± 0.26 oC. Pipette uniform volume of semen sucks 3?l samples and gives sample droplet thickness 9.26 ?m on cement sample preparations. Hardware for MooAnalyzer which consists of image capture, temperature control and volume uniform pipette has been successfully implemented to be able to measure the quality of cattle semen.
