Description
Summary:Data is an asset in the institue because it can be used as a reference in making a decision, so a protection process is needed to keep the integrity of the data. The data referred to in this study is data selection in the online admission of new students. The main purpose of keeping the selection data is to give confidence to the public that the selection process is carried out transparently and fairly. However, the system currently in use is still centralized, which means that only the data owner can process the data, allowing fraud to occur. Distributed systems are systems that offer solutions to data integrity problems. One of the technologies of the distribution system is the blockchain that is implemented in Bitcoin. By implementing the blockchain in the case of a selection system, all entities related to selection can have that data. When a change occurs, all entities can find out about the changes, so that data integrity can be maintained. In this study discussed how to design an online selection system using permissioned blockchain and implementing it through a prototype developed using the Hyperledger platform and continued by testing the security using the OWASP and ISO 27001 standards and testing the performance by simulating the selection process. The results of this study have met both of these security standards.
