Summary: | Flood events cause material and moral losses to the people. Some areas in the Districts of Kalipucang and Padaherang, known as Pangandaran Regency rice granary, become a flood inundation area every year. This area is a lowland, elevation +4 m to +11 m. Ciseel River, Cirapuan 1 Drain, that have estuaries to the Citanduy River, and some 3-rd order rivers/channel, across this area. Levees are higher than the land and the existence of lowlands makes it difficult to drain water with gravity system.
This research is a hydrological and hydraulic study to get a technical solution to the Padaherang flood problem by applying a polder system. Hydrological analysis using the SCS synthetic unit hydrograph method and hydraulic analysis using the 1D / 2D model with DHI Mike Flood software.
Approach the pump and pond operation pattern by minimizing the number of pumps without limiting pumping time. Pool and pump optimization is approached by making simulating variations of pool area with the number and capacity of the pump adjusted until an optimal pair of detention ponds and pumps is obtained. The Ciseel River and Cirapuan 1 Drain trainning are approached as long storage and drain, so do the 3rd order rivers/channels. The operation of the gate system are evaluated.
