Ideally, city always should be developed and growth, especially related to urban economic development. Cities must have certain identity so that they have high competitiveness toward others and even their countries, through physical characteristic, economic and cultural advantages. Sport Mega Event is a policy that can be driven by city government to reach the economic development. Therefore, the purpose of this research is identifying Sport Mega Event impact towards urban economic development. The research approach is quantitative method. The data is secondary data that obtained from various institution. To achieve the first, the method is descriptive analyse, while the second use ANOVA, and the third could be explained by LQ and shift share analysis. Economic growth can be observed from the regional GDP of the city. Sport Mega Event is not only affects the rate of urban economic growth totally but also affects to urban economic sector. Sport events are divided into some categories, sport event generally can be categorized into local/regional/national or international event. The categories will affect urban economic development differently. The result of research show SEA Games that a part of Sport Mega Event gives positive economic development impact. Specifically, SEA Games have a alerge influence on accommodation, air transportation, construction and real estate. Based on the reseach, the recommendation that can be given are built infrastructure on sub sectors which have fast growth and competitive also managing the infrastructure with innovative ways post Sport Mega Event.
