Summary:Woven bamboo is the result of processed bamboo plants that are cultivated in Indonesia. The role of bamboo which is closely related to society since the time of the ancestors was used as food ingredients as well as supporting tools for daily activities, one of which is as a container or packaging. Indonesian food packaging that uses bamboo woven material is one of them is salted egg food from Brebes Regency. Along with the times, the use of woven packaging for salted eggs began to be replaced with new packaging materials that were more varied than the shape and visual packaging. This study aims to gather information about salted egg packaging from Brebes Regency and analyze packaging design principles and ATUMICS methods on packaging to obtain new design recommendations. This research was carried out by preliminary data collection of observations related to case studies of salted egg packaging in the Brebes Regency gift shop actually, as well as in-depth interviews with a bamboo plaiter in the area around Brebes Regency. Interviews were also conducted with traders and several consumers to look for data related to salted egg packaging used with analytical solutions using packaging design factors. Further observations were carried out to obtain data on the types of packaging materials and how to package salted eggs, and to analyze them using the ATUMICS method to obtain the basis of the appropriate design recommendations. The results of this study are that the design principles of packaging in bamboo woven packaging are not impossible to list, but also do not reduce the function of woven packaging. Two packaging recommendations were obtained from the combination of woven packaging with paper packaging. The packaging of salted eggs can continue to grow and must be balanced with new ideas to process the structure and test the packaging material.
