Description
Summary:Oil and gas is one of energy sources on earth. The processing and management of oil and gas can form the waste of oil sludge, which according to Indonesia Government Regulation PP No. 18/1999 jo PP 85/1999 classified as B3 waste with waste codes D220 and D221 so it must be managed in order not to pollute the environment. The management of sludge produced water may be in the form of the utilization of sludge produced water itself. In this research, the sludge produced water from BP Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) will be used as organic fertilizer or soil improver. High organic content in the sludge allow the processing by biological processes so anaerobic degradation method is choosen. To increase the porosity of the product, there will be addition of bulking agent such as sawdust and a mixture of dry leaves. This study aims to determine the type of bulking agent as well as the composition of the mixture of sludge and bulking agent that is most optimal for the utilization of the sludge. Mixture of sludge and bulking agent after being processed is expected to meet the minimal technical requirement for organic fertilizers and soil improver according to Indonesia’s Regulation No. 70 in 2011. Anaerobic degradation process takes 45-50 days to reach the C/N ratio of 15-25. From the results of the research, bulking agent sawdust at a ratio of bulking agent : sludge = 1:2 was choosen as the optimum composition of the mixture in the process of anaerobic degradation.
