FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENT ON CULTURAL HERITAGE SITES OF OLD TOWN SEMARANG

As time goes by, cultural heritage are facing a lot of threats, one of them is flood. Increasing intensity and frequency of flood will also increase the amount of threathened cultural heritage. One of cultural heritage which is threathened by flood is Old Town Semarang. Exceedingly, Old Town Semarang is located in the location of land subsidence. With regard to the values contained in it, a little damage to Old Town Semarang can be very significant. Therefore, it is necessary to protect cultural heritage carefully. Efforts that can be made to protect cultural heritage is through risk management. Risk assessment is the first phase of risk management. It also can be used as inputs for conservation process. However, many similar studies have not been carried out in Semarang, so this study aims to analyze the risk of flooding in cultural heritage site of Old Town Semarang. Risk analysis is carried out by analyzing flood threats, vulnerabilities, and capacities. Scoring analysis is used in this study to determine four classes of risk, namely low, medium, high, and very high risk. The result of the study is as many as 13 buildings are very high risk, 12 buildings are high risk, 36 buildings are medium risk, and 50 others are low risk. After knowing the level of risk, risk prioritization is carried out by considering the level of risk, the value contained, and the potential impact that might occur
