Summary:Wayfinding is an important process for someone to find the way to their destination, in this case for visitors in shopping mall. This process is also needed in emergency situation, when people need to evacuate themselves and finding the exit in a building as soon as possible. The goal of this research is to find out if the spatial elements of a shopping center could influence visitors’ preference in wayfinding process. Analytical method is used in this research with data collected from literature studies, research object observation, and questionnaire. Based on observation and analysis, there is a lot of objects that can be defined as spatial elements. But there are five spatial elements that could influence the process; path,, edge, district, nodes, and landmark.
