Summary:The Great Mosque of Sriwijaya in Jakabaring is a city mosque that will be the center of worship and daily activities for the people of Palembang and located in the Jakabaring Sport City area. Land location right in the area of Sport City. The problem of this site is the integration of the symmetrical trapezoidal axis of the tread against the road and the direction of the Qibla will result in the remaining spaces of the site. The main problem of this project is the design of this Grand Mosque trying to integrate the values of religion, environment, sportsmanship and culture of Palembang are interconnected with each other, so it must have a unique form of other mosques in general. Based on this, the basic concept of designing this mosque is chosen analogous to sujud. Prostration is one of the best movements in Islam in Islam, for the movement closest to Allah SWT when praying. The mosque also comes from the word sujud which means obedient, submissive and obedient. In manifesting it in the form of design, the form of prostration is analogous to the representation of functions within the mosque. Sujud has the meaning of wrapping the spirit of worship that is subject to God in the present frame. The form of the analogy is also expected to show the integrity between the mosque with the nature of the sports competition and in accordance with the origin of the word mosque. From the concept of design is embodied in the form of design concepts that pay attention to the issues of mosque building design and problems from the site, with solutions to design a magnificent, large and monumental mosque building. The design concept of the Great Mosque of Sriwijaya includes, zonning concept, building mass concept, structure concept, energy efficiency, water efficiency, and facade concept.
