Description
Summary:Indonesia is one of the countries that tend to disasters, both caused by natural factors and human activities. Almost all types of disasters occur in Indonesia, but one of the disasters that is raging this year is the earthquake disaster. The Indonesian state is filled with very high potential earthquake points. One of the potential earthquake points on Java is in Patahan Sesar Lembang, West Java. However, around the Lembang area, there are still many school buildings who not meet earthquake resistant building standards. This can cause damage to buildings if there is a small-scale earthquake, or even collapse during a large-scale earthquake. Natural disaster management or commonly called mitigation is a continuous effort to reduce the impact of disasters on humans and their materials. One form of prevention for earthquake disasters in a building, especially a multi-storey building, such as a school building, is to prepare a kit consists of tools that can be used to survive, if there are victims trapped inside the building. This study aims to develop a Survival Kit design or tools for survival for victims, in the event of an earthquake during school hours, where students are trapped in classrooms. The Survival Kit is also adapted to existing evacuation procedures, and will be placed on existing furniture in the classroom so that it is easily accessible to students.
