This project located at Guru Patimpus Street, Medan, North Sumatra. In this final assignment will be design a diaphragm wall as the earth retaining wall and bored piles deep foundation. The earth retaining wall to be design is designed for 12.3 meters of excavation. The diaphragm wall designed have the thickness of 0.8 meters with 15.7 meters of depth of penetration. The concrete compression strength is 35 MPa. The wall designed has fulfilled the safety factor and deflection limit that is stated in the design code by installing 3 level of ground anchor which is anchored at the depth of 4 meters, 7 meters, and 10 meters below the ground surface. The analysis to design the diaphragm wall was done by PLAXIS 2D software while reinforcement calculation was calculated manually and by Tekla Structural Designer. To design bored pile foundation, one must fulfill the limit of settlement and have sufficient bearing capacity to withstand the force applied from the structure standing above. There are 6 types of bored piles designed which is P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and P6 and 15 types of group piles named PC1 to PC15. The piles P1 to P4 has the diameter of 1200 mm with length of 40 meters, 50 meters, 53 meters and 54 meters while the piles P5 and P6 has the diameter of 1000 mm with length of 40 meters and 49 meters. Software being used to help the analysis for designing the foundation is Ensoft L-Pile and Ensoft Group Pile while the software used for reinforcement calculation is SP Column. text
