INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/37190 Rice is a significant staple food crop for the entire population of Indonesia. Consumption and demand for domestic rice continue to increase in line with the population growth, while rice productivity remains stagnant. The factors that determine the growth of rice productivity are nutrient intakes during cultivation and one of the nutrient types never given to rice plants is silica. The research conducted at ITB Jatinangor campus was aimed at determining the effect of adding liquid silica to the growth of rice plants, soil nitrogen content and rice productivity, and the rate of evapotranspiration of INPARI 30 Ciherang Sub 1 varieties of rice plants with recirculation systems. The treatment design consisted of P1, P2, P3, and P4 with soil planting media, compost, and biochar with a ratio (2:2:1) and (1:2:2) and the addition of liquid silica fertilizer. The addition of liquid silica fertilizer did not affect the growth of rice plants with a comparison of soil planting media, compost, and biochar (2:2:1). Conversely the addition of liquid silica fertilizer has a higher yield of rice plants with a comparison of soil planting media, compost, and biochar (1:2:2). The addition of liquid silica fertilizer to the content of soil nitrogen in the treatment of P3 and P4 was 0.36g / 100g and 0.43g / 100g with yields of P3 and P4 rice crops of 3.75 tons / ha / harvest and 4.06 tons / ha / harvest. The results of the measurement of the rate of evapotranspiration at 63 HST were 274.53 ml / day. text
