| Summary: | Dependence on the people of Pangkalpinang to private vehicle in daily
transportation activities is very high due to non optimal management of public
vehicle sevice in Pangkalpinang. One of the solution for this problem,
Pangkalpinang government plan to run Bus System Transit (BST) as pubic
transportation. BST will be operated for eight corridor which will be run gradually
to cover transportaion service to all over Pangkalpinang. At the first time, one of
the corridor will be operated soon is eighth corridor. The aim of this research is to
know the characteristics of potential demand to BSTservice at eighth corridor and
to determine the willingness factors of people to use BST.
This research used quantitative method. The data were analyzed by cross tabulation
analysis method. The result showed that potential demand of prospective users of
BST service corridor VIII in Pangkalpinang were 20.56% for excactly to use BST,
68.22% for possibly to use and 11.21% for not to use BST. Some factors that
influence that respondent’s willingness to use BST were age, gender, job,monthly
income, the amount of mode transfer toward service route of BST, accessibility
toward BST route both accessibility from living place and accessibility from work’s
place, fee fare, waiting time and travel time of BST. |
