This research is a concurrent observational study qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative research was conducted with directional interviews for filling out questionnaires with open questions. Quantitative research was carried out by measuring blood glucose levels, blood pressure, total cholesterol, weight, height, abdominal circumference and body mass index (BMI). The results showed that once and recurrent acupuncture GI therapy significantly reduced blood glucose levels (p <0.05). Acupuncture GI therapy also affected total cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, abdominal circumference and BMI but was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). So it can be concluded that acupuncture GI therapy is effective as a complementary therapy in in metabolic syndrome. text
