Description
Summary:Rural areas in low and middle-income countries experience a transformation of economic, social, cultural and political structures characterized by the emergence of economic diversification as a livelihood strategy. However, it still becomes a question how far this transformation affects the quality of life. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify those conditions by using Subjective Wellbeing concept. This concept was chosen because the state of material, such as income, only has a partial relationship with welfare, while rural people tend to feel satisfied with the limitations of rural conditions, so this method provides an opportunity to find out more about the welfare level subjectively from an individual. This study was a case study in Kaliabu Village, Magelang Regency. This place was chosen due to the existence of the logo designers as the impact of the internet development and change in the socio-economic conditions of its people. This study was a quantitative research using questionnaires with Multistage Cluster Sampling for collecting data. The main analysis used was the Wilcoxon test, Sign test, and Contingency C test . The results showed that the change in subjective wellbeing tended to be experienced by individual who works or has family members who work as Logo d esigners because they felt a direct change in the elements of personal (internal) and social life (external). Meanwhile, individual who is not or does not have family members work as Logo designers tended to only experienced change in external life elements such as security, physical environment, and social relations.
